Board game friends, in your neighborhood.
Tablemates is a local community board for people who want to play in person in their local area or online. You can come with friends or come looking for your first group.
How do I find a game night?
Browse upcoming listings, choose a game type and day, and check the beginner-friendly filter if you want a table that welcomes new players. Sign in, introduce yourself, and request a seat. A request is not confirmed until the host accepts it.
Can a game night repeat?
Yes. Choose weekly or every two weeks to create the next eight sessions. Each session has its own attendee list and discussion, so joining one date does not sign you up for the whole series.
How do virtual events work?
Virtual tables appear in every area. Filter by play format, game, date range, day, and beginner friendliness. The meeting link is only visible to the host and accepted attendees.
What games can I find?
Hosts can organize board games, Commander, strategy games, party games, cooperative games, and D&D one-shots. The event description explains the exact games and anything to bring.
How do we coordinate?
Accepted players and the host share a private table discussion. Use it to agree on games, ask rules questions, and coordinate snacks or meeting details. Check the page for updates; there are no automatic email notifications.
Where do we meet?
Set your city, region, and country to see local listings. Hosts choose and arrange a public venue and should check its hours, permissions, and any fees before posting. Tablemates does not reserve venues. Do not publish private home addresses.
Can I host if I’m new?
Yes. Explain what you want to play, whether you need someone to teach, the start time, and the number of open seats. Everyone can read the listing, but your sign-in email stays private.
Are store listings official?
Store events are community-submitted and link to a source event or calendar. Confirm details with the store before attending. Your Tablemates seat is a place in the group, not store admission.
Is this affiliated with a university or store?
No. Tablemates is an independent community project from Better D&D, open to people meeting to play in their own communities.
